Investment Thesis
The Elwood Blockchain Global Equity Index (BLOCK Index) aims to offer exposure to listed companies that participate or have the potential to participate in the blockchain or cryptocurrency ecosystem. The index aims to capture the potential investment upside generated by earnings related to the adoption of blockchain technologies or cryptocurrency.
Invesco have launched ETFs and other investment products which aim to provide the performance of the index. The index is calculated and distributed by Solactive and is reviewed and rebalanced quarterly.
Investment Thesis

Jonathan started his career at KPMG, where he qualified as a chartered accountant. In 2012 Jonathan joined the London-based investment management company Ruffer, where he worked as an equity analyst on the Ruffer Japan Fund. In 2016 Jonathan joined Investors Group in Hong Kong, where he managed a portfolio of Japanese equities in the Investors Global Infrastructure Fund. Jonathan joined Elwood Asset Management LLP in August 2018, to launch the Elwood Blockchain Global Equity Index.

Bin was previously the Chief Investment Officer of the Systematic Investment Group at Brevan Howard Asset Management LLP where he managed multiple UCITS investment funds. Before that he was a Partner and Portfolio Manager at Decura Group, responsible for quantitative research and investment. He started his career at Barclays Capital as an equity exotics trader managing quantitative investment strategies.

Prior to joining Elwood, Alex worked for six years at Liberum Capital in London as an Equity Research Analyst, where he covered various sectors, including Utilities, Materials and Technology, contributing to various IPO deals, helping UK small and mid-cap companies successfully raise over £200m worth of capital. Alex holds an MSc in International Accounting and Finance from Cass Business School and qualified as a CFA in September 2016. Before switching to Financial Services, Alex also worked for seven years at an oil distribution business in Southern Brazil, focusing on Industrial client sales.

Prior to joining Elwood, Kristin worked for Morgan Stanley in New York City and London. Her roles spanned across Prime Brokerage, Equity Capital Markets, and Equity Research Sales. While on the Equity Capital Markets team she aided in the aggregate asset raise of more than $150 billion for European, US, and Japanese corporates. She maintains a strong network across the European hedge fund and institutional investor landscape. Kristin graduated from Duke University with a Bachelor of Science in Economics, and degrees in Spanish and PPE. While there she co-founded and presented in the first-ever Duke Bitcoin Conference.

Gagandeep is the General Counsel at Elwood Asset Management LLP. Prior to joining Elwood, Gagandeep worked in the finance practice of Clifford Chance in London during which time he completed secondments to the firm’s Tokyo office and to the structured products group of HSBC Bank plc. Gagandeep has extensive experience advising leading financial institutions across all areas of finance, with a particular focus on fintech, structured notes, derivatives, loans and synthetic securitisations. Gagandeep is admitted to practice as a solicitor in England and Wales.
